Info

Trimma anthrenum Winterbottom, 2006
Honey-bee pygmy goby

Inhabits reef crevices and caves in 2-20 m

Main reference
Winterbottom, R., 2006. Two new species of the gobiid fish Trimma from the coral reefs of the western Pacific Ocean (Pisces; Perciformes; Gobioidei). Zootaxa 1331:55-68

Jumping guard
A jumping guard prevents (nocturnal) fish from jumping out.
Wrasses, blennies, hawkfishs and gobies jump out of an unprotected tank in fright if their night rest is disturbed, unfortunately these jumpers are found dried up in the morning on carpets, glass edges or later behind the tank.

A small night light also helps, as it provides the fish with a means of orientation in the dark!
