Info
Cryptocentrus maudae is a speckled, dark brown partner shrimp speckled with light spots with a white spot on the head, a row of white saddles on the back, a white snout, lips and chin and dark diagonal stripes on the anal fin.
The goby shares burrows symbiotically with alpine heath crayfish.
Habitats:
Cryptocentrus maudae inhabits tide pools, mud flats and sheltered sand and rubble fields in coastal and near-shore reefs down to a depth of about 10 meters, but also occurs in brackish to freshwater zones.
Synonym: Cryptocentrus maude Fowler, 1937
Jumping guard
A jumping guard prevents (nocturnal) fish from jumping out.
Wrasses, blennies, hawkfishs and gobies jump out of an unprotected tank in fright if their night rest is disturbed, unfortunately these jumpers are found dried up in the morning on carpets, glass edges or later behind the tank.

A small night light also helps, as it provides the fish with a means of orientation in the dark!
