Odontanthias chrysostictus swallowtail

Odontanthias chrysostictus wird umgangssprachlich als Tiefwasser Fahnenbarsch bezeichnet. Bei der Haltung gibt es aufgrund der Tiefe wo er gefunden wird, dann doch einige Dinge zu beachten. Es wird ein Aquarium von mindestens 1500 Liter empfohlen. Giftigkeit: Nicht giftig.

Odontanthias chrysostictus (Günther, 1872)

Very special thanks for the brilliant photos of Odontanthias chrysostictus to Lemon Tea Yi Kai from Japan.

Odontanthias is a genus of fish in the subfamily Anthiadinae and family Serranidae found in Atlantic, Indian and Pacific Ocean.
Occurs over rocky bottoms in fairly deep water!
This species is known to inhabit depths of between 50 and 150 m (R. Myers pers. comm. 2015).
