The ethereal sponge, Dysidea etheria is a massive to semi-encrusting, commonly lobate species (Wiedenmayer 1977). The lobes are often elongate, lamellar or digitate. Live specimens are light blue throughout, although the exopinacoderm may be brownish grey.
