Plectroglyphidodon sindonis is solitary and territorial, the perch occurs on rocky shores exposed to wave action where it feeds on algae.
Adults are observed in very shallow water in the surf zone.

The perch is charcoal or dark brown with black edged scales, two light vertical stripes, iridescent spots on the cheek, and a light iris crossed by a diagonal black stripe.
Juveniles live in tide pools, are brown with two white stripes and a large black spot at the posterior base of the dorsal fin.
