Felimare francoisaehas a yellow border to the mantle, a dark blue band and a white band running around the mantle.On the middle of the dorsum a white line runs from the rhinophores to the gills.Rhinophores and gills are deep blue in colour.
Felimare francoisae feeds on sponges, including Dysidea fragilis and Pleraplysilla spinifera.Its transfered secondary metabolites from the sponge prey to the mantle.
Similar to Mexichromis paulomirpuri. The mantle color of Felimare francoisae is prussian blue, while there are two tones of blue on the mantle of Mexichromis paulomirpuri.
