Sanopus astrifer (Robins & Starck, 1965)
The body is dark brown, reddish brown to almost black with a paler belly. The head is densely covered with small white speckles. On the body are lateral lines with white spots along its length anf random white speckles on the fins.
The Whitespotted Toadfish is endemic to Belize. This toadfish occurs around hard structure on coral reefs,can be found to depths of 5-30 m.
Sanopus astrifer feeds on small fishes,crustaceans,molloscs and polychaete worms.
