(Sauvage, 1880)
Very special thanks for the first photos of Bathygobius andraei to the famous Australien ichthyologists Dr. Gerry R. Allen und Dr. Ross Robertson.
Bathygobius andrei is endemic to the Eastern Pacific, ranging from Guatemala to northern Peru, including one locality from Gorgona Island, Colombia

Bathygobius andrei is occasionally found over rocky substrate, although is more frequent in intertidal pools and sandy substrate in Columbia.
Synonyms:
Gobius andraei Sauvage, 1880
Gobius andrei Sauvage, 1880
Classification: Biota > Animalia (Kingdom) > Chordata (Phylum) > Vertebrata (Subphylum) > Gnathostomata (Superclass) > Pisces (Superclass) > Actinopteri (Class) > Perciformes (Order) > Gobioidei (Suborder) > Gobiidae (Family) > Gobiinae (Subfamily) > Bathygobius (Genus) > Bathygobius andrei (Species)
Jumping guard
A jumping guard prevents (nocturnal) fish from jumping out.
Wrasses, blennies, hawkfishs and gobies jump out of an unprotected tank in fright if their night rest is disturbed, unfortunately these jumpers are found dried up in the morning on carpets, glass edges or later behind the tank.

A small night light also helps, as it provides the fish with a means of orientation in the dark!
