A bright blue fusilier with a brilliant yellow band along the back below the dorsal fin, that continues onto the caudal peduncle and caudal fin.
The False Fusilier is commonly seen in large schools at in the Solitary Islands feeding on zooplankton in the water column.

Often seen schooling in the water column around offshore reefs and islands.
