The body is white with bight or dark purple spots.Gills and rhinophores are a pale yellowish-brown.
Goniobranchus tumuliferus feeds on sponges.
Similar is Goniobranchus woodwardae, which have a continuous yellow marginal band,G.tumuliferus have usually a series of short yellow lines. Very similar to Goniobranchus kitae (with white spots on gills and rhinophores).
