Halgerda willeyi Eliot, 1904

Halgerda willeyi normaly occurs in the Tropical Indo-West Pacific, but nowadays this invasive species can also be found in the Red Sea and the Adria.Halgerda willeyi enters the Mediterranean Sea through the Suez channel or ship ballast water.

The colour pattern of the mantle and also rhinophore are variable.Willey's Halgerda feeds on sponges.

Halgerda elegans is according WoRMS a synonym, the coeect name is actually Halgerda willeyi!
