Acteon virgatus (Reeve, 1842)

Acteon virgatus is a marine gastropod in the family Acteonidae, which is colloquially known as lathe snails. Members of the family have egg-shaped or spindle-shaped shells, as well as an operculum to close the shell opening. Woodturning snails are small snails. They feed carnivorously on tube worms.
