Info
Vitrumanthus oligomyarius had about 300 cylindrical polyps, which are located all over the three-dimensionally structured hexactinellid sponge body.
The ectoderm of the polyps is partially encrusted with small sand and silica particles (approx. < 0.1 mm).
Vitrumanthus oligomyarius can be easily distinguished from other Vitrumanthus species by the number of tentacles and its unique mesenteric arrangement.
The Japanese name of the crustose anemone is 'Subesube-ruri-sunaginchaku'.
