Info

Aulacolambrus granulosus (Miers, 1879)

Aulacolambrus granulosus is a crab in the family Parthenopidae. The crabs with the oversized long scissor arms are called elbow crabs. A totally fitting name for these unusual looking crabs.

Elbow crabs are bottom dwellers and are well adapted to the respective subsoil. Aulacolambrus granulosus is whitish and usually occurs on white or light sandy soils. Here the perfectly camouflaged crab is often simply overlooked. Aulacolambrus granulosus feeds on zoobenthos.

Unfortunately, no further information is available about the elbow crab Aulacolambrus granulosus.
