Info

Paraplesiops poweri is a brownish blue miracle perch with 8 -10 darker vertical bands, blue spots on the head, and a narrow blue line on the gill cover below the eye, a large blue spot on the operculum, and blue tips on the dorsal fin spines.

As with all miracle perch, the reef aquarium should provide ample refuge with crevices and passages in the reef rock.
When a miracle perch moves into an aquarium for the first time, questions quickly arise with the keeper that the perch does not show up at the usual feeding times, usually. The perch looks for its own food, so it should be placed only in no well run-in aquarium with a healthy variety of microorganisms.

Paraplesiops poweri comes only occasionally into the specialized trade and is therefore quite expensive.

The species name "poweri" honors Percy Power, who caught the type specimen.
