Info
The red sea cucumber (Parastichopus tremulus) is found on mud, sand, gravel, stone bottoms or rocks, near the continental shelf.
Parastichopus tremulus has some small tentacles around its mouth, which serve it to pick up organic material from the bottom.
The color of the animal is red, purple, orange or sometimes almost white on the upper side, with lighter shades on the underside.
They usually have distinct warts on the body, but in some cases they can be almost invisible.
Sea cucumbers are part of the ocean's cleaning force, tirelessly keeping the ocean floors clean.
