Info

Plocamopherus ocellatus Rüppell & Leuckart, 1828

Originally described from Tor, Egypt, Red Sea, it is recorded below from Turkey, and previously from Israel. Its colour description is brownish to dark red or reddish black, with yellow spots that have dark-colored flecks in the center and a brighter yellow margin followed by a dark ocellation,
hence the name "ocellatus".

Species of Plocamopherus feed on branching bryozoans.
