Ahnfeltiopsis linearis (C.Agardh) P.C.Silva & DeCew, 1992
Cylindrical near the base, slightly compressed near the tips.
Like Ahnfeltia fastigiata and Ahnfeltiopsis gigartinoides this red alga is tough, and it associates with bedrocks or boulders that are subjected to seasonal sand-buriel up to 90 cm deep. Known from shallow pools and sand scoured habitats at lower intertidal depths.
This is the largest, in terms of branch width, of Ahnfeltia/Ahnfeltiopsis species.
