Nectonema melanocephalum Nierstrasz, 1907

Translucent Gorgonian Shrimp (Manipontonia psamathe) with internal parasite worm, probably a parasitic flatworm inside it.

Similar to Nectonema agile.

Nectonema melanocephalum occurs Western Central Pacific: Indonesia.Life cycle: Eggs hatch into encysted larvae and live as a parasite for some time before becoming a free-living adult. Their crustacean hosts remain to be determined.
