Volvatella maculata K. Jensen, 2015

Volvatella have a large, weakly calcified, bulloid-shaped shell. At its posterior end, the shell narrows into a funnel or spout. The foot is relatively short . On the head is a pair of rounded oral lobes and a pair of somewhat flattened, rounded rhinophores.When this species disturbed, it produce a sticky white secretion .

Volvatella slugs feeds on the greenalgae Caulerpa.

Volvatella maculata: The specific epithet "maculata" refers to the circular spots on the mantle.
