Turritella carinifera Lamarck, 1822

Turritella carinifera is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Turritellidae.
Found on mud flats at low tide.

Turritella carinifera belongs to the family Turritellidae.Auger shell have a slim body with spiral sculpture. The operculum is horny. Turritella communis are found worldwide, living on sand and mud flats.This shell is a Filter feeders , that feed by straining suspended matter and food particles from the water.

This shell is common. It lives at depths of 7-200 m.Lokal experience these snails on masse.
