Cribrarula cribraria (Linnaeus, 1758)

The mantle is translucent bright orange-red to bright red. Cribrarula cribraria can be encountered in intertidal and shallow waters among coral rubble and rocks. They mostly feed at night on red encrusting sponges.

Cribrarula cribraria , commonly known as the Sieve Cowrie will often lose the rear portion of its foot when disturbed.

Diet: Encrusting sponge Clathria (Microciona) mima.
