Amphiodia akosmos Hendler & Bundrick, 2001

Amphiuridae,commonly known as long-armed burrowing brittle stars or burrowing brittle stars, are a large family of generally small brittle stars.

The colour of the smal Amphiodia akosmos is white to pale beige, with some disc scales and arm plates a contrasting gray or brown.This species lives under rocks burrowing in sandy bottom.

It is the only Amphiodia species known to bear live young.

Similar is juvenile Amphioda ocidentalis.
