Captive breeding / propagation

The offspring of Lysmata prima are possible. Unfortunately, the number of offspring is not large enough to cover the demand of the trade. If you are interested in Lysmata prima, please ask your dealer for offspring. If you already own Lysmata prima, try breeding yourself. This will help to improve the availability of offspring in the trade and to conserve natural stocks.

Very special thanks for the first photo of Lysmata prima to Nick Chapman from Chaloklum Diving, Thailand!

Lysmata prima inhabits rubble and sandy bottom areas in bays and lagoons.
The shrimp requires a meaty diet and hiding places.

Caution: Lysmata prima may attack other ornamental shrimps!
