Epinephelus gabriellae occures from the coast of Oman to the eastern border of Yemen, as well as Socotra (Yemen) and to Somalia in a depth down to 88 meters.
The gruopper need a meaty diet consitsing of small fish and crustaceans.
IUCN Red List 2008: Status = vulberable.
