Gibsmithia hawaiiensis Doty, 1963

This very soft algae is firmly attached to a rock. Thalli are to 4 cm high, browish-red or brown in colour and composed of 4-5 gelatinous lobes. This red alga is characterized by furry gelatinous lobes arising from a cartilaginous stalk.
